GUINEA PIG ONLY IN A DUET
When deciding to have a guinea pig, we must be aware that it is a highly gregarious animal that needs a companion of its species to function properly. Of course, we are talking about a friend of the same sex, because we should not allow uncontrolled reproduction. There are countries where it is forbidden by law to keep a guinea pig alone, such as Switzerland. Therefore, when thinking about buying a guinea pig, we must always bear in mind at least two individuals of the same sex. Race, color, type of fur or the lack of it are irrelevant in this case.

WHERE TO FIND A NEW MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY?
It all depends on our beliefs. In a situation where we already have a dream pig of a specific breed or clear preferences regarding, for example, the color of its coat, we should look for it in farms that are registered in the Polish Club of Purebred Guinea Pigs. If, on the other hand, we do not have specific expectations as to the appearance of our pet, we can use the opportunity to save and create a new home for the animals that are waiting for him. Such a chance gives us adoption, which we can make in two places. The first is the Guinea Pig Aid Association, which has animals for adoption from intervention. The second one is Lab Rescue - adoptions of laboratory animals. Both the first and second options for acquiring a guinea pig will be a valid and ethical choice.
